.my DOMAIN REGISTRY (MYNIC): Supporting Documents for Registering New .my Domain Name
All organizations applying to register a domain name under .my must have a presence in the manner as stated below. The Registrant's name must be the /institution name as EXACTLY stated in the relevant supporting documents.
Please note that incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate information supplied in the Domain Name Registration Form may result in termination of service. Failure to submit the required supporting documents will lead to the rejection of the domain name application.
Copies of supporting documents may be required for the following:
- New registrations
- Modifications to an existing registrant's name (to reflect a legal name change)

New Registrations
For new .com.my, .net.my, and .org.my domain name registrations via GB Network Solutions, please be aware that, as of 26 September 2001, organizations formed under the following acts must submit their supporting documents to GB Network Solutions:
- Societies Act 1966
- Business Registration Act 1956
- Companies Act 1965
MYNIC may conduct random verification checks on these organizations. It reserves the right to terminate services for organizations that provide incomplete, incorrect, or inaccurate information in the Domain Name Registration Form.
Organizations may apply to register for the following second-level and third-level domain names:
- .com.my (for commercial organizations/activities)
- .net.my (for network-related organizations/activities)
- .org.my (for organizations/activities which do not qualify for other categories)
- .edu.my (for Malaysian educational organizations only)
- .gov.my (for Malaysian government organizations only)
- .mil.my (for Malaysian military organizations only)
- .my (for any registered company in Malaysia and any Malaysian citizen with Malaysian I.C.)
Registering .com.my, .net.my, and .org.my
The registrant is responsible for selecting the most appropriate second-level domain name (.com.my, .net.my, or .org.my).

Registering .name.my
* The registrant must be an individual above 18 years old.
* The registrant must provide identification details:
National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) number for Malaysian citizens.
Registering on Behalf of a Minor (Below 18 years old)
Personal domain names under .name.my cannot be registered on behalf of other individuals or entities. However, parents, guardians, or immediate family members may apply for a .name.my domain on behalf of a minor (below 18 years old), as minors are not permitted to register in their own capacity.
Conditions:
- Both the minor and the parent/guardian/immediate family member must be Malaysian citizens or non-Malaysians residing in Malaysia.
- The Agreement for Registration of a Personal Domain Name is between .my DOMAIN REGISTRY and the parent/guardian/immediate family member, who will bear full responsibility for the domain.
- The .name.my domain may be transferred to the minor once they turn 18 years old.

* Clients may submit any of the required documents as mentioned above.
MODIFYING AN EXISTING REGISTRANT'S NAME
Registrants may apply for a legal name change modification if they are registered under:
- Companies Act 2016 (for companies)
- Business Registration Act 1956 (for businesses)
- Societies Act 1966 (for societies)
- Commercial License Ordinance 1948 (for Sabah and Sarawak)
To process the modification, the relevant supporting documents must be submitted to .my Domain Registry (MYNIC) via fax, post, or courier, along with the Confirmation Form. The application will only be approved once the documents have been received and verified.
